Why COAH

Curated with intention, gifted with heart

Since I started COAH, I’ve had a lot of people ask me what it stands for. I could have just called it City on a Hill. That would have avoided a lot of questions. But that would have been missing the point.

City on a Hill comes from Matthew 5:14. And whenever somebody asks me, it creates an opportunity for a conversation. It creates an opening for me to share even a small amount of why I do, well, everything I do.

To me, being the light of the world means using every gift and every opportunity I’ve been given as a chance to show someone who God is.

I’ve said that I started COAH out of a love for people, but that love for people doesn’t come from me. See, I love because He first loved me. Anything good in me isn’t me at all, but it’s Him working through me.

I can only create good gifts because I was created in the image of the perfect Gift Giver.

It’s wonderful to receive gifts that make us feel seen, known, and loved. But that doesn’t have to just be something we experience on special occasions. There is Someone who sees you, knows you, and loves you and deeply wants you to know Him in return.

And if that all sounds crazy and not for you, don’t worry, I’m not going to stuff your boxes with Bible verses.

But the heart behind what I do will always be that every good and perfect gift comes from above and the credit goes to Him alone.
